Trattoria Bagutta - Milaan / Italy

Trattoria Bagutta Via Bagutta 14 / 20121 Milano Tel : +39 (0) 2 76000902

It looks like a small place from the outside and it's a bit hard to find if you're a tourist. Especially the way it looks from the outside, it's not a place you would take as a first choice. So going to Milano remember this address. Really near the centre of the city. Inside it's pretty big, at least 12 waiters and 7 cooks ... This must be a good place. And very clever, bringing you to your seat they walk you along the antipasti buffet.

I missed Vitello Tonato and choose the Mozzarella di bufale. I know a lot of other choises but where can you eat real fresh Mozzarella? Indeed, in Italia you can, it was devine, great taste, beautiful olive oil, taste full tomatoes, perfect.

For the main course I took the fritto di scampi e calamari what a treat. There is such a difference in Calamari from the Netherlands and fresh from Italia!!! Almost to die for. They even print an * if a course is made from a frozen product. These were not ...

Accompanied by a Pinot Grigio. The restaurant is very old, the waiters too but they understand the business very well. Great, friendly people. A lot of pictures on the wall almost every centimeter is full but it suits this old place. I saw the meat coming through, that I'll take the next time another great restaurant added to the list. And the prices are good. They will not be the cheapest but certainly not the highest. Price and quality are very much in line. The menu is daily made up and printed so of the 60 (or so) choices they were only 2 prepared from frozen goods the rest is all fresh.

In other words we didn't make it on Thursday night so after being stranded on Friday we went as well to the restaurant ...
