Kong - Paris / France

1, Rue du Pont Neuf
75001 Paris
Tel : 01 40 390 900

Situated in building were you wouldn't expect it to be. The entrance is rather strange and if you think is this really the entrance, you'll know when entering the elevator. Try it ! This restaurant is pretty famous in Paris and you'll see it on the people who actually come there. it's the perfect place to start an evening out on the town. The restaurant is divided into two sections. The bar / restaurant where you can start your diner or have a drink before your diner. Here you mostly find a table to have a small snack or 'simple' diner. The restaurant upstairs is the real deal. Make a reservation if you want to be sure, packed most of the times. As we tried - foolish of course - we ate near the bar. (go to the toilet thought / restaurant level, see the view over the Seine ... whouw ...).

Started of with a Kir

Had a steak tartare - like they can only make in France, real raw meat perfectly spiced !
Goujounettes de St-Pierre - yeh fish they can make perfectly as well ...

Ended with a carrement choco (creme brulee fantasy)
and a moelleux au chocolat - really good

Prices are high, seen the location and the people that are coming. They have so much people waiting it's incredible, even a lady (sometimes 2) behind the bar doing nothing else than making cocktails. It's a real good place to start your night out. Bring a lot of cash though! For above mentioned 4 dishes that will set you back a € 100. That's pretty high but worth the experience :-)

Look at the website, trendy too, Philippe Starck (his words : It is the classic of a geisha against the modern kawaï from Omotesando, they meet at the elegant european’s at the summit of Kenzo’s headquarters facing the Pont Neuf) had a say in the interior.

The following pictures tell enough ...
