It's not my first time here ... but the location is perfect, parking space well available, different kind of setting. The food is perfect especially for a 2 course lunch you only pay € 18 and for that quality isn't much. They pay a good deal on details and use really fresh ingredients that are seasonal. Can be busy so make sure you have a reservation.

I can't recall how many times I mus have been eaten in this place. Weekly is a bit exaggerated but when I was young I came here too often. It used to be a small farmhouse. Always loaded, full with people, often had to wait for a table. I start coming there after the renovation, the atmosphere was totally gone. Pity, probably better for their wallet but not for me ...

The pancakes were huge ... If you could eat 4 the 5th was for free. But eating 4 is quite an accomplishment. And not plain ones only 4 special ones ... I ate the farmer one often, cheese, mushrooms, bacon, onion, ham almost the same ingredients like the best topped pizza. Covered with curry as icing on the 'cake'. Loved it ....

In the middle of the "Jordaan" there is Jurriaans. I've been here a lot too. They always make room for you even if there completely full. Staff is excellent and the kitchen is simple but perfect.

The Mixed grill was the choice of the day for me today.

Hoeveel beproevingen heer Bommel en Tom Poes in hun avonturen ook doorstaan, ten slotte belanden ze steevast aan tafel in Bommelstein, waar Joost ze een eenvoudige, doch voedzame maaltijd serveert. Immes, 'na gedane arbeid worden rauwe bonen zoet'. In dit kookboek nodigt culinair expert Johannes van Dam verschillende karakters uit de Bommel-saga aan tafel. Per personage stelt hij een specifiek menu samen. Voor Markies de Canteclaer is dat een fijnbesnaard veelgangendiner overgoten met mooie franse wijnen, per Professor Sickbock ontwikkelt Van Dam het modieuze moleculaire koken, burgemeester Dickerdack serveert hij gerechten die vooral indruk maken door hun chique uiterlijk en benaming. Zo is koken op Bommelstein een bijzonder smakelijken nuttig lees -en kookboek. Want iedereen heeft wel een Kwetal, een Doddeltje of een Dorknoper in zijn vriendenkring.
