After Sophia, Ron Blaauw Amsterdam we're now with a new adventure of Mr. Ron Blaauw - RON Gastrobar. A new concept to what we were used to of Ron Blaauw. Small dishes served where ever you can find a seat. Nice music on the background and a very well serving staff. They feel at ease and on their place. It's more informal.
The dishes might be small but they are still good. High in taste, good quality ingredients and the taste experiences are less on a plate (in numbers) but what you taste is good. All dishes are priced standard for € 15. There are (can be) exceptions due to the nature of the ingredients. The only thing is where are the amuses ... The homemade butter with caramel taste and I think still the bread of Menno is perfect but I do miss them .....
The price is high, certainly compared to the old situation that I do prefer. Better dishes and at the end only a few euro's more expensive but a way better product. Will not visit it as much as I did when it just was Ron Blaauw Restaurant. A pity ....

kingcrab is to die for could be more - mash too dominant

love the taste of sauted rye

people say it's exaggerated untill they tried ...

Make a reservation, the place is packed almost all the time. They say on the website just walk in, so I did, last table - I swear - so can't hurt to give them a call to be sure of a table. On the bar there were 3 place left, rest all taken. That say's something too ... 140 covers an evening .... well done !
